Janelle grew up on a family farm in Gridley, IL and currently resides in the Champaign area.  Her interest in the swine industry began in 1995 when she had the opportunity to work with United Feeds, Inc. during the development of their research nurseries in central Illinois.  She continued to work in swine research throughout high school and pursued these interests in college.  Janelle completed her B.S. degree in Animal Sciences from the University of Illinois in May 2002 and is currently employed by the University of Illinois as a Research Specialist under the direction of Dr. Michael Ellis.
