Cutting edge swine nutrition, including the latest in sow and weanling pig feeding, will be subjects of the 4th Annual Midwest Swine Nutrition Conference. Other important topics include energy use, health, and nutrition-environment issues. Leading swine nutritionists from the five Midwest land-grant universities who are sponsoring this conference, as well as other key scientists, will be speakers for this conference on August 31. The event will be at the Sheraton Indianapolis Hotel and Suites, Indianapolis, IN. It will precede the 4th Midwest Pork Conference on September 1, 2004, that will be held at the same hotel. The conference provides an opportunity for animal nutritionists to share information about current research at universities and in industry. It is directed toward the feed industry, consulting nutritionists, swine veterinary practitioners, and others interested in cutting edge swine nutrition and feeding. Topics to be discussed include feeding the modern sow, energy systems for swine, organic acids and protein sources in starter diets, the role of fat cells, nutrition and health of swine and nutrition and environmental issues. The conference registration fee is $100 per person through August 20, and $150 per person after August 20 or on site.
