A) Interleukin-1b and EMMPRIN stimulate MMP-1 and 2 mRNA. RNA was collected at the following timepoints after treatment of HUDF cells with either IL-1b or EMMPRIN at the labeled concentrations.  Fold induction of mRNA levels were analyzed by Taqman PCR and normalized to control gene GAPDH.  B) EMMPRIN stimulation of MMP-1, 2 and 3 gene expression and protein secretion by HUDF cells.  HUDF cellular lysate was collected and analyzed by immunoblotting for MMP-1, 2 and 3 after treatment with either IL-1b or EMMPRIN.
